This HKS kit has been developed as a direct replacement short block for the EJ20 engine used in the Subaru Impreza.
It is assembled using a combination of a high-capacity stroker kit, brand-new OEM components, and precision machining carried out by highly skilled HKS technicians, ensuring maximum reliability and high performance.

The most critical areas of the engine are carefully optimized to deliver outstanding results, while the overall configuration is designed to provide consistent power output, durability, and long-term reliability, even under demanding conditions.

Description

EJ20 2.2L Short Block Assembly

The EJ20 2.2L capacity upgrade kit is installed into a brand-new cylinder block.
The interior of the block is machined with dedicated clearances to properly accommodate the increased displacement kit.
A 0.5 mm oversized bore is performed using a dummy head jig to improve cylinder geometry and machining accuracy.
Both left and right deck surfaces are precision-machined and polished to ensure optimal flatness and sealing.
The EJ20 2.2L capacity upgrade kit is fully installed and assembled.
